i have found no difference between brands and I have used them all. ONE BIT OF ADVICE: NEVER write on them with a sharpie. I have found that the cheapo non-top-coated ones will degrade over time if they have been written on.

my solution: buy the cheapest ones you can find (compusa brand, or whatever) but always put a piece of scotch magic tape on the top of the disc to write on, and then always use a felt tip. (and be careful not to go over the edge or it was all for naught)

  3. I swear by Verbatim DataLifePlus CD-RW media. No other brand I would buy.

    Get 'em here - http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10260883&loc=101

$1 each is a little steep for cd-r, I never spend more than .30 on my cd-rs.

I bought several batches of CompUSA CD-RW's over the years, 2x, 4x & 10x and never had a problem. Recently I also bought Memorex 10x 700 mb 80 min ones als no problems.

I found that Walmart had good prices for a 25 pack of Memorex 4x 700 mb. The first pack was fine it has a breaking wine glass on it. The latest 25 pack I bought looks the same but doesn't have the glass on it but they all have caused me problems. Half the time the burners do not recognize them or after being burned the disk cannot be read anymore even with the burner.
