  1. First off.. This is an awesome site and you guys reading and posting make it work.. --getting emotinal..

Now for my little question-First time posting*

Starting to back up my movies and have not had any major issues. Currently using DVD decrypter using the ISO feature and the complete rip as well. Used Smartripper also for Rips. For burning using Nero (wont support 4.0 gig ISO) for VIDEO_TS and on other occassions Vertisa (not sure on the spelling) for Iso burns. Ripping and burning have been successful. As you can see I've tried a few ways to get from A to B.

Now- All backups have worked. Menus, chapter selection , everything. The only problem i've had my disks jump a little and on some level have pixelated on me. just for a few seconds and then go away. I did not see anything so far on what disks (DVDR) work best. But.. can it be my media? Any suggestions? I will clean my DVD soon and eliminate that from the equation as well. Post or email me. thanks in advanced for any suggestions.

  2. Does the DVD-R play fine in your computer at the same location you see the pixelation on the stand-alone? This would indicate a problem with the media and your stand-alone.

If the problem still occurs when watching on your computer, then try copying the files to the local HD and playing them there. This will tell you if the problem lies in the files or the media.

apple disk are first class and fairly cheap for a major brand disk. Also I've had fairly good luck with the gold esbuy.com brand disk. If you get the ESbuy though order just 1 or 2 for testing. Don't take ANYONEs work as to what will and wont work for ya. At least dont assume that they know what will work for you... if ya get what I mean. Try some of the stuff people seems to be saying works well in small quantities then stick with what works for you.
