  1. I would like people to post there way of ripping a dvd9 to a dvd-r. I have read about every way possible to rip them, and everyone is differant. I was using rempeg, but I heard to use tmpeg instead. Also when I ripped out the stuff I did not want with ifoedit, I reencoded the vob files with out taking out the audio with dvd2avi. I guess I would like to know the best way, to copy a dvd9 to dvd-r and keep the original menus, and just the movie and chosen audio track.

    Thanks!!

  2. i just rip to hard drive n stick half the main movie on one disc n half on the other making sure ive put all the important ifo, bup files on both..simple !./.it plays fine on my affrey dvd , but may not on others. no need to use ifoedit or tmpeg. i certainly dont wanna use tmpeg coz you are then back to the old days of re-encoding the mpeg, slow n losses quality. !

if you use nero to burn in dvd video mode it will bitch so use udf/iso mode instead

  3. If it's a movie worth it, i split it on two discs (Like Lord of The Rings), but in most cases it's not.

I prefer quality over menus or extras, so if i get a DVD-9, i rip the main movie and burn it. If necessary i strip extra tracks / subtitles or the final chapter (the credits). This way i get a digital copy, with maximum quality and don't spend too much time encoding

    1. Rip (DVDDecrypter or SmartRipper, if DVDDecrypter cannot handle it) the main movie
    2. Strip Audio / Subtitles/ Credits, if necesary
    3. Region Free (I forgot to do this with Angel Eyes )
    4. Burn it!!!.
