Lately I am seeing more software support for 5.1 SVCD sound, which as I understand is NOT DTS but multichannel mpg, which is supported in the SVCD spec.
Also I have noticed several DVD-AMP-Speaker combos that are supporting "Multichannel MP3", and a few which have "SVCD" and
"Multichannel" logos, though not together. One model had indicator lights showing "Prologic", "Prologic II", "Multichannel", and "DTS". Any hope these low-buck units may support 5.1 SVCD?
The good news is I am seeing more units with SVCD logos, they are no longer rare.

OK, no answer on that one. How about using a Hollywood or Creative card, and/or a Software-based multichannel MPG decoder? Can the computer play back 5.1 for SVCD, or Multichannel MPG?
