  1. This post is directed @ Kwag, But if anyone else can help I appreciate it

When using fitcd to create an avs file for tmpgenc, I load my d2v file then resize to vcd resolutions (being a PAL only dvd user I resize to 352 x 288), problem is I can never get an error of 0% for the real aspect with pal resolutions. The DVD's res is 720 x 576 standard pal, yet resizing to pal resolution's gives an error, but if i do a format conversion it switches output res from 352x288 to 352x240 and gives a error of 0% for the real aspect ratio.
I'm no pro at this but I'm guessing having a error of 0% is better than having an error right?
My question is can I use the ntsc res of 352x240 with my dvd's and the kvcd template (obviously switching the templates res from 352x288 to 352x240) @ 25 fps without having to "speed up/slow down the audio" like fitcd reports I will have to do? Basically I wanna keep the movie in pal @ 25 fps but just change the res.
I also wish to use this res as Fitcd reports it compress's better at this res, im guessin because its a lower resolution?

    Any ideas?
    Cheers for reading,
    Bobby.

  2. Hi Bobby,
Did you set the "Blocks TV-overscan" to 0 in FitCD?

  3. yes kwag I always leave that option at 0?
Also when encoding T2 which is an anamorphic widescreen I always have borders which are very large-about 1/3 of the screen on my monitor (thats 1/3 above and below well roughly!!) Which is good in the sense that the file size is a lot smaller and encodes are faster-but the viewing area is about 1/3 of my monitor. Looks like a true widescreen, I cannot test my vcd encodes on a standalone yet until it arrives from england (2 weeks ) But on a widescreen tv and standalone will the vcd's fill the screen or will they be the same as on my monitor with huge borders. I am using Fitcd correctly I beleive and also I have source aspect set to full screen @ 16:9 625 and output @ 4:3 in tmpgenc.

    Thanx for replying.
    Bobby

  4. Ok maybe I exaggerate the border sizes being 1/3 of the screen but they are about 1/4 screen size each and actual film area about 1/2 screen size
