  1. If you have a dvd burner, can you just copy a dvd like you would a cd in a regular burner? or do you have to rip it and then burn it onto the dvd. If you do that do you still get the menu and chapters?

    the short and sweet answer is no. there is aquite a bit of work invovled and a lot of waiting when you are copying 99% of all dvd movies. there are guides-a-plenty out there, just look here or www.doom9.org but don't buy a dvd burner with the belief that it's an easy task. it's not hard per se, just complicated and time consuming
