Is there a program available that you can use to mix movies that you edited into surround sound (5.1 or Pro-Logic). Some of the short films I have made are screaming to make the jump from stereo to surround. Thanks in advance!

If you plan on making a VCD Dolby surround is your only option. The program Soft Encode allows you to make a Dolby digital 5.1 track from combining mono tracks. You could then downmix to Dolby Surround. Are these movies you made yourself(videotaped)or just ripped or captured. If you wanted to do surround on home made movies you would need to record with at least a few mics to get positional audio. Or if you have a good audio program that can isolate individual sounds. Either way it would be difficult.

Thanks for the info on 5.1. These movies are shot with a digital camcorder (in stereo). I want to edit them first before export (either to DVD or VCD). I would like to keep all the dialogue in the center channel. Then, in the editing process, add sound effects and music to fill the other channels (like a professional mix). Hopefully, this can be done.
