hi i was wondering if there was anyway that i can put a vcd into my pc, and then copy a small clip of the film onto my hard drive, i have managed to copy the whole thing and then edit it, but this takes quite a long time, i was wondering if there was a program that basically i could say "start copy now" and then say 10 second later "stop copy" and i would than have a ten second clip, if this can be done could someone please let me know, thanks pete

You can use TMPGEnc go to File>Mpeg Tools>Merge&cut.
Load ur movie find the bit u want to copy, click "{" to start recording and "}" to stop, enter an output filename and click run. Simple! -
