Right, I am new to the art of Video CD Creation, have nero, and can understand most things, being a programmer, but I am trying to do something which might be unusual. I am backing up my VHS tapes to VCD, I have an ATI all-in-wonder 128 card, and can record and play back, but the trouble I have is, I want to make Video CD 1.x cds. Nero seems to only do version 2.0 CDs. Is there a v1.x burner, or ISO/BIN+CUE creator available?
Other things : I have read that if I want to use the playstation to play the VCDs, then there's a trick with the close button and Select and square to play, unfortunately the VCD I created didn't work, I am assuming that this could be due to the VCD being v2.0, created with nero. I would like to get the playstation to do it as my partner is a bit of a technophobe and won't play the cd's on the computer.
Is there an equivilent to avi2vcd that will process compressed audio?
I am not well paid, and don't want to have to buy the external vcd bit for the playstation if I can avoid it.

If you want to use a simple program use VCDImagerGUI (available in the tools section of this site) - this software will enable you to create a BIN and CUE file in VCD 1.1 which you can burn.
As for your other problems - sorry can't help you there.
