  1. Hi guys.
Can anyone tell me how I can force TMPGEnc to encode an *.avi file to an SVCD file with a specified filesize (e.g. 700 MB) ?
If you use Nero 5.5.9.0 to do the encoding job it creates a file that perfectly fits on a cd, but the encoding quality is bad.
How can I force TMPGEnc to do this ?

    Thanks...

You have to encode with 2-pass vbr. Set max to 2500kbits, min to 300kbits, and calculate the average bitrate using a bitrate calculator. You calculate the average bitrate to fit x amount of time onto x amount of disks. Look for a bitrate calculator in the tools section of this site.

simply say, how many mins your clip has, how many CD(s)/MB you want to fit on? Set TMPGenc bitrate as result shown.

I'd go along with what Adam said, but you can use TMPG's Project wizard with recent versions, which has its own bitrate calculator. And I would be thinking of 2 discs if the source material is over one hour.

  6. Hey guys.

Thank you alot for the help. The file was already splitted so that the encoding worked perfectly.
It was about 40 minutes each file. The quality is perfect.
    Thank you...
