  1. I got a Geforce256 card today...after i installed it i now have horizontal lines of grey and light grey all across my monitor....white isn't even white anymore its a greyish color...i have tried reinstalling the drivers and done every kind of configuration i could think of but nothing yet...i did have the tnt2 card but i wanted something a little better for some games...i'm not a big gamer so i don't need anything that puts out mega graphics with mega 3d acceleration....but, does anyone know what i need to do...i've tried Nvidia site but they have NO technical support......i was also hopeing that the quality from the s-video to my TV would be better but it sucks...when i try to select TV my pc display shows on the TV for about 5 seconds. at the same time time my PC monitor goes black while its on the TV then it dissapears from the TV and reappears on my PC monitor...any help????

  2. See if the fan is running on the Geforce 256 card.

  3. no....its not...should it run constantly? i would have thought that if it were the fan then it would work for at least a couple of minutes....as soon as i even begin to boot my system even before windows i have the HP logo, i guess its called the splash screen..anyway, even from the logo i see the horizontal lines comeing from the sides of it...so that tells me that it has to do with the card...but like i said as soon as i put my TNT2 back in, the whole problem is gone....

p.s.-did i mention the color white isn't even white, its more of a greyish color.......also, my system has been on for about 10 min now and the fan hasn't run yet........
