My question has to do with the comment at the start of capturing guide using Divx, which says not to use Divx if you intend to make a VCD.
I have an ATI TV WONDER USB edition tuner and MCC 7.3 software and have been using DivX 5.02 codec to capture from TV or camera and made VCD that to me look good. DivX make good compression and good quality AVI files.

Divx is lossy. Capture to AVI with Huffy or PicVideo if you want the best quality VCD.

You will probably get better quality if you capture to some sort of MJPEG, not to mention that there is much less CPU load -- important for people with slower PCs.
