  1. Hi everyone.
I've been creating some PAL VCD's (I'm an aussie),of my old videotapes via the standard VirtualDub,TmpgEnc,Nero route on my PC, & am currently debating about getting a standalone DVD player to use them on.

I was kindly allowed to test my homemade VCD's (on Mitsui gold CDR's), on a Sony DVP-NS305,& after some hassles, they played fine, & it does seem a nice unit with CDR/RW,VCD,MP3,DVD etc supported. However, I was a little annoyed that the remote was quite basic as were controls on the DVD unit itself,(eg: no track 1,2, etc. keypad on the remote).

My budget allows for either this Sony DVP-NS305 or a Panasonic RV32 (same price here at the moment),however I have not been able to see/try the Panasonic RV32 in action.
On paper it "Should" play my homemade VCD's,but I am concerned if it defintely will,& if it will go as well as the SonyDVP-NS305.

What are user's thoughts, would I be better sticking with the Sony option, or is the Panasonic RV32 as good,& more importantly, will it play my home made CDR VCD's??
    What's the Panasonic's RV32 CDR reading abilities compared to the Sony NS305? At this stage my CD'Rs are mostly Mitsui Gold's 74Min 12x, Some Kodak Ultima 80Min Silver & Gold's 12x, & lastly some TDK's 74min 40x.

Panasonic or Sony, I know the Sony will work, but I'll appreciate any views, which is better? (They'll be hooked up to a Sharp TV via standard AV cables)
