    I am quite stuck here. After searching the forums and the www, I can't seem to find a way to unlock my Sony DVP NS305 (set on region 2) without the use of a computer or palm pilot with infrared (neither of which I have) . Unfortunately I also only have the basic remote with no number keys. Is there any way around this dilemma? Or have Sony really got the best of me?
    All my DVD's are region 4!!! :(
    Would appreciate anyone's suggestions...

    Most Sony players cannot be unlocked at all, the few that can often require special hardware as you noted above.
