Hello. I am about to take delivery of a multi-region SD220E.Before I rip some DVDs using DVD2SVCD, does anybody know (can't find anything anywhere about this
) whether or not the player is one of the "few" that can play SVCD with Dolby Digital encoded sound? I can burn and find out, but if somebody already knows, would save me and the CPU some time!! Cheers

At the risk of sounding silly answering my own posting, for those interested, the unit plays a 5.1 encoded SVCD, but it is a terrible sound - tinny and nowhere near full frequency range. I ended up burning a trial to find out.
So the answer for the SD220E is a resounding NO.
Hope somebody gets something out of this!
