  1. OK, im trying to get clips of this AVI video i have. I set the audio and the video to direct stream copy, set the slider to the start of the clip i want, and click the start button, set the slider to the end of the clip i want, and click the end button. Then i do save file as AVI, and give it a name. But once its done, it doesnt save what i wanted. It saves from the beginning of the AVI file to the place where i marked "end." And yes, i am positive that i set a start frame. I have tried this several times and have gotten the same result.

Anyone know what i am doing wrong?

  2. Use the set start and end points to select the sections of video you dont want, then press the delete button. This will remove this portion of video from the timeline. When you have cut out all the stuff you dont want and are just left with what you do want, save as avi (direct stream copy).

  3. lol good idea! thanks a bunch dude

EDIT: OK i tried this and it still didnt work! i dont know WTF is wrong! I deleted everytihg but what i want, so thats all i can see in vdub, and then i did save as avi. it still ended up starting from the beginning and ending at the end point. And its 50 megabyes. All i want is like a 10 second clip for crying out loud, is it that hard to get? Is there like a minimum on how long the clips have to be in vdub??

  5. Well just to test and make sure I just saved a 10sec clip from the centre of spiderman using the instructions I gave you. No problem.
