  1. please anyone - where can i get an accurate mpeg1/2 bitrate calc for STANDARD vcd/svcd?

ive got many, but non of which are accurate - my vcds get sometimes bigger, while in others ive lost quality cause some prog gave wrong b/rate

grrr what am i doing wrong?
after calculating it manually - TMPGENC still got a different sizes- for ex. a 25min video - encoded with default ntsc svcd got a 490megs file - thus when calculated its like a 50megs less......

    any help?
    thankx

DVDx seems to give an accurate calculation of file size. Also, as it encodes it will split your mpg into 800Mb chunks (or whatever size you want).

There are other things that can increase filesize besides your bitrate, such as multiplexing overhead and even authoring overhead.

Try FitCD. It is the absolute most accurate bitrate calculator there is because it accounts for just about every little thing that could effect your filesize.

I don't understand why you need a bitrate calculator for a standard vcd since the bitrate is set at 1150k. I assume you meant xvcd?
