  1. i downloaded a movie it has good quality on my pc but if i encode it to mpg and burn it on a dvd it shocks a bit how come??

    hmmmmm - maybe because you encoded it at 1meg/s bit rate ? (good as guess as any)

    give a little more info ..

    source type, encoder and settings, output type ..

    i encode with tmpgenc. i hope this is the info u wanted:

    video type:non-interlace
    aspect ratio 1:1VGA
    source type: cannot find info about that.
    Dc component precision:9 bits
    Bitrate:2000 kb/s
    Rate control mode:Constant britrate

    i thionk you should read the guides on how to encode - author and burn for dvd , you need to know more about your source , your bitrate is to low for dvd (well it depends what the source was also) , and aspect ratio and on and on ... i really dont know where to start ...

    there are some excellent guides here and elsewhere ...
