I am just getting into video editing with Pinnacle Studio7. I have a new Sony Digital8 but the photos or video I send to the computer through 1394 or USB do not have the resolution I need.
Using a scanner for 150 pictures will be a major project. Can someone tell me the fastest way to import photos with about 300 dpi quality? How do the pros do it?? Is there a really fast scanner?
Thanks

For good quality digital photos you need a dedicated digital still camera, most dv camcorders will take stills but the resolution is very poor.

Thanks for the reply... I have been considering a digital camera for this purpose but was told I would lose a lot of quality taking pictures of my existing photos this way. What do you think, and what should I look for in a digital camera?

If its existing prints you want to digitize, scan them, definately dont photograph them. I'm afraid I don't know of any self feeding scanners, and if they do exist I imagine they would be extremely expensive. For a digital camera I would suggest to go for 2 megapixels and above. Mine is a 2.2 megapixel and takes pictures 1800x1200 (good quality). If you still have the negatives, if you take them into a photo developing store they can put them on to cd for you. They may even be able to do this from the prints, but I'm not sure.
