Several DivX to CD, combine and break

Hello, I have some movies which are spanned across 1 or 2 DivX avis. What I want to do is combine the file either before or after converting them to SVCD mpeg. Once I have 1 long mpeg I then want to split it into 800MB chunks so that it will fit onto CD. The reason I want to do this is because I have encoded some of the divx straight to SVCD but the quality sucks so instead of going from 2DivXs to 2SVCDs I will use 3SVCDs to keep the quality high. Can somebody recommend good software for:

1. combining either the divxs before conversion or the mpegs after conversion.

2. Splitting an mpeg file into desirable size chunks

DivX AVI join = Vdub
.mpeg split/merge = TMPGEnc

Better to do all the edit with the AVI's, before converting
