Every time I open the tv program my machine locks up. I thought it was in the multimedia center program and I have tried all the versions, but I know it is not the MMC now because when I click on capture avi in virtual dub it still locks up. All the other programs with MMC work fine, DVD, VCD, file player, etc. Does anyone know what is wrong with this piece of junk?

    Innershield,
The problem your describing is almost always caused by an IRQ conflict.
Go into System Information/Hardware resources/Conflicts sharing and check what card is sharing the same IRQ as your video card and move it to another slot. Usually the first PCI slot shares the same IRQ as the AGP slot but there are exceptions as is the case with my ASUS motherboard. The ideal solution would be to get your video card so that it's not sharing an IRQ at all, but more often than not you can't under XP unless you go into the BIOS of your motherboard and manually assign interrupts. Most likely the cause of your problem is being caused by a PCI card that needs it's own separate IRQ.

Thanks, that fixed it. I moved my firewire card from slot one to slot two and now my tv works.

  6. Never put a pci card in slot 1 if you use a graphic card. If you can get away with it!
