  1. i have a few 2cd vcd movies that i would like to convert to divx/ avi. does anybody have a good idea on how to do this??

ive already looked at the guides, and ive found how to join the movies (seems very easy-tmpgenc) but for conversion, all i saw was converting TO vcd not from it.

also, as an aside, if ripping dvds, does it lessen the time required if the end desired product is divx.

by the way, the reason i am so focused on divx is because i prefer one cd movies of decent quality for the sole purpose of watching on my computer.

    Search Comp PM
Most of these programs will work the other way, Vdub will load a .mpeg (.dat) file and you can set the compression for your DivX audio and video before you save the AVI

TMPGEnc can also save out an AVI
Input AVI, .dat, .mpg > File > Output file
