I looked at some of the disc, in the formu and many have the same problems as I have:

An mpg (VCD rip) movie can't be recognized on my DVD pl. Does anybody have a clue? My DVD player supports VCD/CD/MP3/CD-R/CD-RW

You should give some more information. How are you converting? Did the mpeg play on your PC? Did the VCD [burnt mpeg on CD-R(W)] play on your CD-Drive? What are you burning with i.e. Nero, if yes, which version? I think then people here can give you better help.

Parallel you could also go to the unofficial website for Cyberhome DVD Players

    Okay, more info:

I burnt with Adaptec Easy CD creator, but not the Deluxe version.... Dumbo! So now I got Nero 5.5 running after checking the 'What is' section. I'll burn the mpg with nero and come back if it doesn't work. I'll burn CDRs from Emtec (BASF) on an HP burner.

I also have the same CyberHome player and have found no problems with it.

The only problems I have are with SVCD and CD-R coatings, burn the SVCD on a CD-RW disk and it plays ok, burn it on a CD-R and playback is terrible.
I just need to find the right brand of CD-R for SVCD burning.

Just use Nero and you'll be ok.

It works 'as beautiful as a rock in a cops face' (K.Cobain, 25-jan-1992, Amsterdam). I used MMORE 74mins with Nero 5.5.

Rene (or any other with a CyberHome), which brands of CDRs have you tried? If I can find SVCDs, I can burn on EMTEC/MMORE/TRAXDATA and Lenco which I have lying around here.

I guess surround sound (or better: DTS) is lost after ripping movies to VCD or SVCD? With the Pearl Harbor HBO good cam it was evwn mono. A jurassic III version I got is stereo, but that is probably the best one can do? The pic quality is excellent, by the way! Except the chinese subs are terrible.

I also have Cyberhome 512 and having tried several CD-R types have settled on 80min VIVAStar ( made in Switzerland).

I am in the Uk and they are very good value for money !
