I have recently downloaded an mpeg video but it will not work when trying to play on Windows media player V 7.1. Is there something else I need to do first. No doubt you have guessed I am new to this.

What error msgs or codes do you receive, if any? Can you play other
mpegs, avi's etc...? -
install mpeg2 codec if you are trying to play a mpeg2 .. just install powerdvd or windvd is easy way .. if its a mpeg1 and doesnt play - try using quicktime
