    Does anyone know how I can convert a movie that I already have on VCD into an .avi or onto the computer in any form??

    Just copy the dat file off the vcd, its in the mpegav folder.....
    Most computers will play this file with just windows media player,
    or convert that dat back to mpg with a program such as VCDgear...very quick and available under tools to the left here...
    Or reencode that with something like TMPG to avi...
