I just installed a DVD-R burner that came bundled with Sonic's "myDVD" software program.
In reading the tutorial, it mentions that it makes possible capturing directly to the DVD burner bypassing the hard drive if you want to use that function.
Has anyone tried that? Does it work with good results?
Is the end quality as good as usual capturing(with your capturing device's program...it says it works with a number of video capturing hardware systems) and then burning the video file from hard drive to video disk?
Does anybody use it and know?
thanks
(it sounds like a great feature and timesaver....IF it produces good results)

Yes it works very well. But, and I REALLY MEAN BUT, your captured video must be a clean source or you will not like your finished product. DVD, store bought VHS or clean satellite TV broadcast are your best bets. If you have any of those elements go for it.
I use it with ADS USB-Instant DVD and Pioneer 104 DVD drive. -
Programs such as DVD complete and Ulead DMF also support real time encoding. However, it is not provide optimal results, at least, for burning to DVD.
