    Why would you want that thing for $480,when you can buy a DVD-RW drive for around $239 and make superior DVDs??

    In addition to a DVD writer you need a capture card too for recording analog video.....

    Now the hardisk recorder they have looks nice comapred to Tivo. No phone connection or service fees....
