    Hello,

I'm trying to rip The Phantom Menace with smartripper (v2.41)... everything rips normally and I can play the .vob file BUT the running time ain't correct!? For example: When I try to rip the first 25 parts (of 51) to make cd#1, the running time must be some 1 hour and 10 minutes but in Mediaplayer it says it's only 35 minutes long... so, encoding with tmpgenc will only result in the first 35 minutes. Ripping only part 1 is no problem, ripping part 1 and part 2 will give a difference in time of some 1.5 minutes. Part 2 is split out in many Cells. Are some Cells corrupt or is this some of ripping protection??

Tombraider had similar problems but there were Cells present which were 0KB in size, I dropped those and everything went fine... With this movie this ain't the case.

    well??

I thought there were some experts in here but probably I'm wrong.
ppl, I can't believe I'm the ONLY person with this problem, maybe not only with this movie but with other movies too.

So, if you have an idea to rip this movie the correct way, plz let me know!

Media player reporting the wrong time is normal. You say 51 parts, are ripping by chapters? Tmpeg will stop encodeing from the vob file because of PTS pointers in the vob. Tmpeg reads the PTS as the end of the file. Demux the vob into an mpg and Tmpeg will encode without any problem.

You would have to transcode the vob's to a smaller size with Rempeg and then merge the new m2v back into the ifo/vob stream with Ifoedit.
