I'm using smart rippper, DVD2Avi 1.76 and TMPGEnc i to enncode to SVCD. I realise some films are too dim with high contrast. Can do some settings in DVD2AVI or TMPG before encoding ?
Thanks

I use exactly the same programs as you and always make any adjustments to the film using DVD2AVI. You can make adjustments in the "video" settings menu. Make sure you put a "x" in the little box in the top right hand corner to apply the settings.

TMPGEnc. Select SETTING> advanced tab> basic color correction.

Many thanks for being so helpful. I will try that out. Also just realised that Shogun's TMPG guide has mentioned that.
