widescreen to full screen

Can someane tell me what to do to convert a DVD rip in widescreen to be viewed on regular tv without the letterbox look, or without distorting the picture too much?

I assume you using Tmpeg for encoding. Open your file and load your template. Click settings,advanced tab. Change the video arrange method to custom centered,the two sizing boxes will open. Make the height same as your height in the tamplate,make the width double the height,i.e. if your template is 352x240 make the custom size 480x240. This will result in a nearly full screen image with normal aspect ratio,round objects will be round. You will have narrow bars at top and bottom and the L&R sides will be cutoff but the aspect ratio will be preserved.
