Media Success with the LF-D311

What media have you been successful with while using the LF-D311. The best success I have had is with the Pioneer DVS-R470SDF. I am looking for a cheaper solution. I have tested several others with disappointing results. The first batch of low end DVD-R's I only got a 50% success rate on the burning.

The next batch from a different vender, They burn great, but the the do not play in my test DVD players.

I haven't used the Pioneer stuff, since around here it's $$$$.

I've used Apple ($$$), Mitsui ($$$), TDK bulk ($$), Optodisc ($$), and some generic brand from the local store ($$), and all have been relatively OK, although the generic ones have not been quite as reliable as the Apple stuff. The $$ Princos I tried a few months back were completely useless however. They are now $, but I've avoided them like the plague ever since.
