Looking at your computer details, I think your overdue for an upgrade. 16MB RAM ? is that all you have ?, and a 2Mb graphics card ?, What is your CPU a 486 ?

I guess so, try to stop any other programs from running (Windows)
, defrag your hard drive (You do have one ?)

If you have under-specified hardware, you are best playing DivX in text mode, but you are restricted to 2 colours. 8)

o well il just buy a new pc whats a good video card to get if i dont want to play games...just convert and watch dvd's vcd's and such
-
Just about any current video card will be good enough if you are not a gamer. What you need is a decent CPU and a reasonable anount of RAM. VCD doesn't make many demands on your PC. SVCD, DVD and DivX does. And if you are only converting, any CPU will do, though it might take forever.
You don't even have to pay a lot nowadays - the slowest Athlon will do very nicely! -
