Looking at your computer details, I think your overdue for an upgrade. 16MB RAM ? is that all you have ?, and a 2Mb graphics card ?, What is your CPU a 486 ?

If you have under-specified hardware, you are best playing DivX in text mode, but you are restricted to 2 colours. 8)

Just about any current video card will be good enough if you are not a gamer. What you need is a decent CPU and a reasonable anount of RAM. VCD doesn't make many demands on your PC. SVCD, DVD and DivX does. And if you are only converting, any CPU will do, though it might take forever.

You don't even have to pay a lot nowadays - the slowest Athlon will do very nicely!

Hi, Just kidding... Hang in there your PC is fine for surfing the net I am sure. When you download movies, try to download the VCD mpeg ones, that way you wont need to convert anything.

You do have a fast connection ?, hope your not using 56K
