  1. For some reason TMPEGnc won't open most of my files. It says "File can not be opened or unsupported". Thats withsome of my AVI files but it will open other AVI files..usally only the ones i don't want to encode. Anyway The reason I need this fixed is because if i'm making a SVCD and TMPEGnc won't encode it I have to use nero to encode it then if there is a problem i'm hooped because nero doesn't save the coverted file it just burns it,theres been probs burning it and then that means another 5hrs of encoding time. Please help me if you can....Is there another progragm i can use to transcode?

Your AVI file may be compressed with a codec that you don't have installed on your computer. If you downloaded this AVI it is probably a DivX movie and you need the DivX codec installed. Go to the tools section on the left and under the heading Codecs are the DivX codecs. Although, you should probably get instead the Nimo codec pack and that includes a lot of useful ones so you don't have to download many other codecs. Nimo includes the DivX codecs.

    Hi.

I had the same problem some weeks ago.
Suddenly TMPGEnc refused to open my avi-files with the same message that you have.
After many hours searching i find the solution to my problem.
By some reason the file msvcr70.dll was missin from my Windows/system32 folder.
When i put it back there the TMPGEnc start working properly.
To find this msvcr70.dll was not so easy either.
But here is a link where you can download from:

I´m not sure if this solve your problem but try it anyway.
    TheFlyer.
