my friend said you can only copy lord of the rings on three vcd's is there any way you can just get it on one vcd?

you can put lord of the rings on 1 vcd, but to do this you would have to reduce the bitrate. for a 3 hour film to fit on one disc, the bitrate would have to be very low, leading to very poor picture quality. you can fit up to 2 hours of reasonable quality video on 1 vcd (using kwag's template for example), but don't go above that limit, otherwise the quality will be crap!

You can fit it on 2 discs as a standard VCD, as long as you use 90min discs.
