ok this player as worked fine for last 2 yrs class picture good sound

problem now is for some reason it dont wanna play any cd-r or cd-rw discs its not excepting anythig unless its branded
p me off abit as ive tried 3 times yesterday re-ripping a film dvix to mpeg then to cd just for nothing to show
i even tried a old ripped vcd of a vhs cleaned up even that dont wanna play
so looks of it the dvd player as lost that functionality if so is it easy to try and update firmware ,would it help ?

or me thinks just sod it buy a new dvd player ,now the othere question which one
