SVCD Menu not working with Nero 5.5.9.0

Hi,

I have burnt many VCDs with no problem. I tried an SVCD the other day and my home movies never looked better. I'm only burning about 20 minutes worth. However, I'm now trying to use the automatically generated menu in Nero. I accept all the defaults (6 thumbnails, and no background picture.) The SVCD will play but I get nothing but a blue screen at the start. If I press '1' the video starts. I have a pioneer 503 DVD player. I also tried the same SVCD on WinDVD and again the menu did not work but the video plays fine.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Ever since I first started reading posts on this site I read about problems with menus and Nero. I don't know if the problems have ever been fixed, but I've been very happy with Ulead's DVD Movie Factory for burning VCDs and SVCDs. It of course also does DVDs but I haven't personally tried that format yet. It's easy to use and under $50. You can go to Ulead's site and get a demo version. Give it a try and see what you think.
