  1. If you were getting a dvd for free or real cheap and one ONLY RECORDS dvd-rom and dvd-rw and the other one ONLY RECORDS dvd-ram and dvd-r which one would you get?????? i no about +r/rw and -r/rw but whats da big difference between rom and ram...... which one is more compatible with all dvd players?????

    DVD-ROM is a data disk.


    DVD-RAM is a recording disk.

    I would take the -R/RAM for sure (have one!). The -R blanks are relatively inexpensive and the resulting disk has compatibility with a large number of players. I don't expect to use th RAM feature.

  4. i am still not understanding fully.... so let me give u a example of what i mean..... ps2 has "DVD ROM" on all of its disk.... also i thought i have seen that on a couple of regular dvd players..... i guess what i am asking is DVD-R OR DVD ROM more compatible...... the reason i am also asking this is because on the dvdr/ram disk i got i find out that it dont record cd-r or cd-rw and the rom/rw does..... so i want to see of dvd rom is more compatible anyway so i can try (AND HOPE) circuit city exchange this drive
