  1. Hello -

I need some help/advice on converting a VOB file to a MPG (SVCD) so I can play on a home DVD player. This is what I have:

....The encoding is DVD compliant with an interlaced, full-height (574
line) anamorphic 16:9 MPEG-2 picture and AC3 2.0 sound. The fileset
    forms a miniDVD (a CD-sized DVD).....

I do not have a DVD burner so I want to convert to SVCD.

I am not an encodeing guru of any sorts, but have done alot of encodeing just the same So please dont get to technical if possible.

Ok, I tried DVD2VCD. What I got was a picture with every other line missing ?? like maybe it was non-interlaced ?? But I see no option to change from non-interlaced to interlaced in DVD2VCD, if in fact this is the cause for the missing lines.

Next I tried to just convert the VOB file myself via TEMPGnc to a SVCD with the default SVCD settings, and now I do have a full picture that looks ok, but it is very jumpy during any movent on the screen.

Please offer some more help to convert this VOB file to a SVCD (playable on a home DVD player) I am in NTSC country btw : )

    Thanks so much!
    John
