got sound playin .avi but no picture :-( please help!!!

hi! i have these codecs that i know are installed but i only get sound when using virtualdub and tmpgenc12a and WMP 7 and Quicktime wont even play them!!! ANGELPOTION VIDEO CODEC V1, DIVx4 Windows Codec 4.0 Alpha 48, HUFFYuv AVI LOSELESS VIDEO CODEC are the ones. any idea on how i can get a picture for swordfish? thanx in advance

Well one dont use WMP 7 to play divx files it just sucks, I dont know why but it does, just go to start---->run----->mplayer2, and now uninstall the Angelpotion Video Codec, it messes up everything just go ahead and uninstall them, you have to delete them out of the registry. And get try 3.11 alpha. and if all else fails just use the divx playa from http://www.divx.com it will most likely play it. But usally if virtualdub dosent open it then it is really messed up, cause that program opens anything, well good luck. And oh yea Quicktime really sucks more than anything, it wont open divx files.

Actually, a lot of the newer .avi's are using the updated 4.2 and 4.3 codecs. Get the Kristal 4.3.3 codec and everything will be ok.
