    Please forgive me if I've asked this before, but I've had to rebuild my computer again from scratch and may not have the relevant drivers!

    OK, I converted an FLV file to AVI using FLV encoder, However when I try to play the converted ***.AVI file in Media player eleven it says acquiring codec then starts playing, but I can only here sound & no video. ther only codec pack I have installed is the kodec-lite pack, I presume I need something else?

    I can play other AVI files!

    Identify the video codec in the avi using gspot or mediainfo and then install that one.

    ...and get rid of the kodec-lite pack. It'll cause you problems down the road.
