This CD/DVD recording drive came with my Sony VAIO. I forget what burning software it originally came with, but it's long gone now anyway thru so many OS upgrades.
The only software I can get to work with this drive is Nero, but that seems to have probs with some CD's and most DVD's. Most other CD burning stuff wont work (Fireburner and some other popular one)
I've already updated to the latest firmware.
I dont want to buy an expensive DVD burning software just to see if it will work, and the demos are too limited to really test.
Anyone have this drive and have suggestions for software?

I use nero 5.5.7.8. I have burned many dvds using this version. I have used the dvd video and udf/iso options with no issues in set top compatibility. If you are having problems with nero try the same version I use. I have tried 5.5.8.0 and 5.5.8.2 and neither worked for me so I went back to 5.5.7.8. Why upgrade if there are no issues?
I tried recordmax trial but got disc errors. Ulead Movie Factory works great for vcr or dv conversion but I stick with nero mostly. I would recommend finding software that works and stick with it as long as you are happy with the output. The dvr-103 is a great drive.
