Want to rip a dvd properly to HD to play in Powerdvd XP

Hello and first of all I would like to say this site has been very informative and a wealth of information. I'm not quite ready to create vcd's from my dvds but have a question. I found smartripper from reading one of the users guides and would like to just rip one of my dvds to the hard drive so I can play it using PowerDVD XP. (powerdvd xp has the ability to play dvds from the hard drive with all the menus intact as if it was playing from the actual dvd). One of my dvd rips from 2 years ago on my hard drive plays fine but I cannot seem to get it to work when I rip with smartripper.

My rips do not seem to work when loaded up on Powerdvd XP. Is there any special parameters or settings I need to use to be able to do this? I appreciate any help and input...I will move on to converting and creating vcd's later. I apologize if this has been covered, I attempted to use the search function to no avail.

i used dvd decrypter for all of my ripping, i like vstrip better, but decrypter is so much easier to use. just make sure you select all the files and rip. everything i rip play perfect in windvd and power dvd

i would have to say the same thing its just depends what ripper u prefer
