  1. OK, I just got a WinTV PVR250 and can not get VirtualDub to see my card. I get an error "VirtualDub cannot connect to the desired capture card drive. Trying all available drivers."

Can anyone help with this problem.

  3. From a nother post "So, I tried something stupid, which sometimes does the trick. I never connect a antenna cable ot cable TV to my capture card(s), I only use composite and S-Video. Well, the WinTV PVR-250 WILL NOT WORK unless you have an antenna connceted with a good signal. It does not matter if you have a composite signal connected or not, without a good antenna signal, the card is dead!"

    I tried this...didn'e work.

    Will contuine to look

I guest you didn't read my FAQ nor the one on Hauppauge web site.

    My web site
Q: I'am having trouble getting 3rdParty applications to work with Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 250?.
A: 3rdParty applications need YUV video format the WinTV-PVR 250 only output MPEG2 in RealTime so applications like Dscaler, PowerVCR WinDVR, VirtualDub, ect ect will not work with this card, Only first WinTV-PVR model 880 can output YUV video format becuase it has BT878A on board as well Vision Tech Kfir1 MPEG2 encode chip the new WinTV-PVR 250 dosen't need a BT878A video decode.

    Hauppauge web site
Third party capture applications not supported:
The WinTV PVR 250 records directly to MPEG using onboard Hardware encoders. Most third party capture applications are looking to attach to a card or driver that supports uncompressed video recordings. Like AVI files. These programs cannot capture video directly using the PVR250.
