I use tempgenc to encode it seems to do the job..used Nero to burn it as a vcd but it wants to re-encode..managed to stop it doing that..burned movie onto both cd-r and cd-rw movie plays in my PC but not my DVD which is a Oriton 100 with the vcd enabled..believe me when I say I have looked everywhere to solve this problem ..Please for the sake of my sanity someone help me out..in easy steps as I am a bit demented...maybe better if I just buy the bloody DVD's and be done with it..thanks in advance

  2. What version of NERO are you using? Upgrade to latest version. When I upgraded it gave me Nero Express which gave me a vcd that was not compatible with my DVD player. Use at least 5.5.8.2! Make sure you burn a compliant VCD in nero. Make sure your dvd player supports the vcd format, check compatibility on this site. When you use TMPGenc make the mpeg be sure you load a proper template for the frame rate and region...either PAL or NTSC or NTSC film. Follow the How-to guides on this site and it should work. Some DVD players are picky about CD-R media...try using good quality media...check what other people have tried on this forum that have you dvd player. One last thing burn the vcd at a lower speed than max. I have a 10x burner but I burn at 4x so there are no subtle disc errors. Hope this helps.

  4. In the past i've had several problems burning VCD with Nero. So finally i stumbled across a program that is great at burning VCDs and SVCDs. In my opinion, VCDEasy is the way to go. I'm pretty sure you can get a download link from this site under TOOLS. In order to use this program, though, you'll need a working ASPI Layer. (If you're running Windows XP, i'd recommend looking for FORCE ASPI).
Just curious, what settings are you using in TMPGEnc? Maybe the problem actually does lie in the encoding somewhere.
    Good Luck
