SONY DVP S550D --- dvd/cd/VIDEO CD???

Hello guyz I have this DVD player and it is one of the top of the line DVD players out there. Let me tell you that it is loaded. But i am having problems with it allright. I recentely downloaded Jurassic Park 3 and Fast and the Furious (2 vcd each) and none of them work. The DVD player just says insert disc. I did not mess with any of the files because they were .bin associations, so the only thing i did with them was open up each .cue and burn them. Jurassic Park 3 was burned on 2 Verbatim CD-Rs (dark-blue bottom) and the Fast and the Furious was burned on 2 PNY CD-Rs (non color like music cds). Is there anybody out there that has this problem because this is a very high end and known DVD player and i still can't get it to play some VCDs. I am trying to make VCDs of this cartoon my little 8 year old son downloaded (lol), so please help me.

I have the same dvd player and had the same problem. I am currently using memorex cd-rw. They work great.
