Apparently during a conversion I have been working on the file developed
some dropped frames. The original file plays fine (wmv format) but after
a conversion to avi using GraphEdit it has some dropped frames.
I also have been having a hell of a time fixing the sync in the new file.
Could this be due to the dropped frames?
Using VirtualDub 1.3 or 1.4 the dropped frames come up as a frame
that the action just sits there, then starts moving again. There are some,
but the main one is about 3/4th into the movie. It spans about 90 frames
as counting by the frame counter in VD 1.4. The others are like 1-3 frames.
I believe this may be my sync problem but I would like to get some input
on this before I trash the whole project.

P.S. IF this is the problem is there a way to convert this wmv to avi and
RETAIN the frames that dropped? Some additional filters in GraphEdit?

The latest fix I tried was:
    http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com/audio-synch.htm
I was able to sync the audio/video late in the movie but when I used this
new frame rate in the beginning it was still off. I changed the rate to match
the beginning and the other part was off.

    Thanks in advance.

Please bear with me. I have been through quite a few processes working
with this file that I am starting to loose track of what I have done.
As I stated above I said the original plays fine. ACTUALLY, I have an avi
file that I was able to make from the original asf. HOWEVER, the sync
problem is apparent in this avi BUT the dropped frames problem is not.

Ex. AVI = Audio/Video Sync out. All frames present and accounted for.

WMV = Dropped frames show up BUT Audio/Video sync ok.

Is there some way to rip the audio from a WMV/ASF file and then combine
it with the avi to produce a mpeg?
If Graphedit can capture the audio then please point me in the right direction.
I was considering using/playing around with it to see what I could get.

    Thanks again.
