  2. You can try using a software M-JPEG codec to read the video. Here is a link for the Morgan M-JPEG codec.

I have a Matrox Mystique 220 PCI card + Rainbow Runner Studio daughter board that I would be willing to sell for cheap now that I have upgraded to a Matrox Marvel G400-TV. It is essentially the same card you use to own (Mystique 220 and Millennium II used the same RR card). The latest drivers support Windows 98.

    Hope this helps.

I was just wondering, since Matrox dropped their MJPEG support in Windows 2000, will this software MJPEG codec allow me to capture in MJPEG with a Rainbow Runner G series or only view previously captured MJPEG files on hardware that is incapable of playing it back?

  6. I haven't tried it myself, since I am still using Win98se, but I would think that you should be able to capture to any codec. It is more a limitation of the software you use to capture than the hardware. You might be able to use the Matrox PC-VCR application if you set it to RGB capture but if not you should be able to use VirtualDub or another video capture application.
