I just bought the Apex AD-1100W for my parents but can't tell if it's the troublesome 512k version or the good 1meg version that I've read about on this site.
If there is a way to tell the difference such as by serial number or something, I'd be greatly appreciated.
thanks,

Check out their forums, which are all about APEX DVD players. Go to the ad-1100w forum, and there's several posts, as well as a FAQ on how to know which model you got.
