Overburning

I've heard of overburning but not much. Friend of a friend overburned yadda yadda, whatever.
Question to you folks: Can it be done?

ie: 800+mb mpeg on *cringe* 740mb CD possible?

The amount you can overburn reliably depends on the brand and batch of media, and also on your CD-R/W drive.

I don't know the limits, but overburning by up to 2-3 minutes (~20MB) is about as far as you can go.

800MB+ on a 740MB CD-R is impossible.
