  2. If the file is an avi just split it with virtual-dub. If the file is mpg split it with tmpgnc.

When you open TMPGEnc, close the wizard that comes up automatically. Then go to file, then mpeg tools. A box will come up. Go to the last selection that says "merge & cut". To cut your movie file, click "add", then find your file. Once it's in there, click "edit". In there you will be able to select where you want to cut it. It will then take you back to the first box. Select the location and name you want the file to be called and where you want it saved. Then redo this for the second part of your movie. You will then have two parts to your movie.

    Good luck!

When you see the movie with the slider at the bottom, move the slider to half way thru the movie. Then click the } button. That should separate the first half from the second half. Then click run when you get back to the original movie. It will then collect the video, then the audio and put them together. You should have half of the movie when it's done running. It will also tell you the size in MB as it's going along. How many does it say you have when you tried this the first time?
